Bookkeeping for small manufacturers.
Most of my career has been inside manufacturers. I've closed the books there as a staff accountant and as a controller, and I know how fast inventory and cost of goods sold drift when nobody's watching. I bring that same month-end routine to smaller shops.

What I handle
The parts of your books that need extra care.
On top of monthly bookkeeping (every account reconciled, the month closed, reports you can read), here's what I watch closely for businesses like yours.
- Raw materials, work in progress and finished goods tracked
- Cost of goods sold that matches what you actually spent
- A month-end close with inventory, accruals and reconciliations
- Fixed asset and depreciation schedules for your CPA
- Payables and receivables kept current
- Reports by product line, division or location when you need them
Sound familiar?
“Our margins look different every month and I don't know why.”
“The inventory on the books doesn't match the shelf.”
“The year-end count turns into a fire drill.”
If your books are behind, that's a normal place to start. I'll quote the cleanup separately, before any work begins.
Experience
Thirty years of closing the books.
I spent more than 11 years with an industrial automation manufacturer, then ran job costing, work in progress and a move to SAP Business One as controller for a three-division manufacturer.
I'm a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, certified in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks payroll, and I do the work myself. You won't be handed off to a junior bookkeeper. More about me
Questions
Questions small manufacturers ask me.
How much does bookkeeping cost for small manufacturers?
Most small manufacturers start on my Complex plan, from $1,200 a month. Inventory and cost accounting put most manufacturers on Complex. After a free 20-minute call you get a fixed quote in writing, and it's month to month.
Can you track inventory in QuickBooks Online?
Yes, within limits. QuickBooks Online Plus and Advanced track inventory quantities and cost. Many small manufacturers pair that, or a separate inventory app, with a monthly count and reconciliation. If you've outgrown it I'll tell you plainly. I've also worked in larger systems like SAP Business One and Epicor.
Do you help with the year-end inventory count?
I help you plan it, then reconcile the count to the books and record the adjustments, so your CPA gets an inventory number they can rely on.
