Bookkeeping for retail stores.
Retail books have a lot of moving parts: register sales, online orders, returns, card fees and inventory. I tie them together every month, so the gross margin on your profit and loss reflects what actually sold and what it cost you.

What I handle
The parts of your books that need extra care.
On top of monthly bookkeeping (every account reconciled, the month closed, reports you can read), here's what I watch closely for businesses like yours.
- Store and online sales reconciled to your deposits
- Card and platform fees broken out instead of buried
- Returns and discounts recorded correctly
- Sales tax collected and owed, tracked every month
- Inventory and cost of goods sold kept in step
- Reports by location or sales channel
Sound familiar?
“My POS, my online store and the bank all show different numbers.”
“Our margin on paper doesn't match the money in the account.”
“I'm not sure what my inventory is actually worth.”
If your books are behind, that's a normal place to start. I'll quote the cleanup separately, before any work begins.
Experience
Thirty years of closing the books.
I've handled reconciliations across more than 20 locations as a senior accountant, and I've worked in QuickBooks Point of Sale.
I'm a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, certified in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks payroll, and I do the work myself. You won't be handed off to a junior bookkeeper. More about me
Questions
Questions retail stores ask me.
How much does bookkeeping cost for retail stores?
Most retail stores start on my Growth plan, from $1,000 a month. Most stores land on Growth. Tracking inventory in QuickBooks or running more than one location usually means Complex. After a free 20-minute call you get a fixed quote in writing, and it's month to month.
Do you work with my POS or online store?
If it connects to QuickBooks Online or exports sales reports, I can reconcile it to your deposits every month. I've also worked in QuickBooks Point of Sale.
Can you track inventory for my store?
Yes. Depending on how many products you carry, that means QuickBooks Online inventory or your POS inventory with a monthly entry to keep the books in step. We'll pick what fits on our first call.
