Bookkeeping for restaurants and bars.
Restaurants push a lot of small transactions through a lot of systems: the POS, delivery apps, card processors and payroll. If those don't tie out, your profit and loss is a guess. I reconcile all of it every month, so you know your real food, liquor and labor costs.

What I handle
The parts of your books that need extra care.
On top of monthly bookkeeping (every account reconciled, the month closed, reports you can read), here's what I watch closely for businesses like yours.
- Daily POS sales reconciled to your bank deposits
- Delivery app payouts recorded at gross, with fees shown separately
- Credit card tips tracked and reported through payroll
- Sales tax collected and owed, tracked every month
- Food, beverage and labor cost percentages each month
- Vendor invoices and payables kept current
Sound familiar?
“The POS says we had a great month, but the bank account disagrees.”
“I don't know my real food cost.”
“Delivery app deposits never match the orders.”
If your books are behind, that's a normal place to start. I'll quote the cleanup separately, before any work begins.
Experience
Thirty years of closing the books.
I've spent 30 years as a staff accountant, controller and senior accountant for manufacturers, a regional bank and multi-location companies. The habits carry over to any business: every account reconciled, every month closed, and reports you can read.
I'm a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, certified in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks payroll, and I do the work myself. You won't be handed off to a junior bookkeeper. More about me
Questions
Questions restaurants and bars ask me.
How much does bookkeeping cost for restaurants and bars?
Most restaurants and bars start on my Growth plan, from $1,000 a month. Most restaurants fit Growth because of the vendor bills. Multiple locations or tracked inventory usually mean Complex. After a free 20-minute call you get a fixed quote in writing, and it's month to month.
Which POS systems do you work with?
If your POS exports sales reports or connects to QuickBooks Online, I can reconcile it. Tell me what you use on our first call.
How do you handle tips?
Credit card tips are tracked as money owed to your staff until they're paid out, and they run through payroll so tip income shows up correctly on W-2s.
